For your viewing/reading pleasure
Feb. 3rd, 2015 06:28 pmAh, it's been a pleasant couple of weeks in terms of watching/reading material:
Woman in White - a case of me continuing to finally reading the classics I was meant to have read umpteen years ago. Certainly less traumatic than 'Les Mis', though my favourite so far remains 'Call of the Wild'. Still, this was fun and twisty with some Grade A villains and a very satisfactory wrap-up at the end.
Galavant - utter utter musical crack that I know I shouldn't enjoy as much as I do, but I have enjoyed Season 1 immensely, it has hands down my favourite jousting scene and best reason given by the hero as to why his team rocks ("We're gorgeous! And incredibly diverse!").
Agent Carter - ah, Peggy, you wonderful woman you :) Plus of course the thrill of finally meeting Jarvis in the flesh. And a nice plot to help keep the tensions high. I believe this is meant to be a one-off 8-ep mini series (same as for 'Galavant'), but I hope I'm wrong and we get an S2.
Supernatural - this is basically now EastEnders with less a less imaginative wardrobe, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying this. We're actually getting to keep some of our guest stars which is brilliant. And of course Castiel and Crowley and their mountain of personal baggage make for an entertaining, Good Omens-ish vibe.
How do you solve a problem like Loki - I don't read the comics, but then again I don't watch 'Game of Thrones' either, yet oddly enough if you browse Tumblr it's amazing how up-to-date you find yourself when they're brought up in conversation. So, I was gutted at what happened to Kid!Loki, and I wibbled when new Teen!Loki told Thor so many many things when he was compelled to only speak the truth, and yes, my heart was shredded when finally, inevitably, Thor found out and we got that scene. That said, if you need a pick-me-up, just read the comments that followed, in particular the long thread of confusion as someone attempts to summarise and simplify just why we have all the various Lokis currently floating around.
In short, t'is a good time to be a nerd, the pickings are good. Even the sporting world briefly blipped across my radar when I saw the Novak won his final, aww, good for you, old sport :)
