Cancelling the apocalypse
Aug. 4th, 2013 01:04 pmA week or so ago a group of us attempted to go see Macbeth at the local fleapit, because frankly who wouldn't when you had Sir Ken, Alex Kingston, and Alex Vlahos in key roles. Alas, we were thwarted by a powercut which left us with a fistful of complimentary tickets but no bard *sniff*
Last night we used the tickets to go see Pacific Rim which turned out to be an utter delight, if only because it turned out that 'complimentary' means automatic upgrade to VIP seats - huzzah!
Anyway, yes, Pacific Rim was just what the doctor ordered after a busy week at work. I was promised a scene of a giant robot beating up an alien with a battleship clutched in its hand, and the film delivered in spades. Plus, I have to say, if Idris Elba does become the next Bond as Tumblr dreams, I would have no complaints :)
