Merlin (Arthur) Fic Rec

eloise_bright!! Although this is a (gen) fic rec for one and all, I am particularly hoping you catch this. Mainly because one of the key themes is 'Daddy!angst'.

Anyway, this is a lovely, lovely fic set pre-series. Told through the eyes of Gaius we watch Arthur growing up surrounded by Uther's rather unique style of fatherly love. It's hard to tell if Uther himself realises just why he does some of the things he does. Ah, the angst *happy sigh*

This time a fic set a little way into the future. Arthur has come up with a 'sensationally awful idea' of how to wriggle out of another plan from up on high for him to get himself hitched. Merlin, because he is Merlin and because he is a servant, finds himself having to go along with it. The snark and verbal sparring between the two is brilliantly funny, Morgana when she shows up is awesome, and Gwen is also lovely. Please do note, however, that, yes, the second part is NC-17. I started this with the firm plan to skim over any smut should it occur. Did the skimming happen? Did it hell. And now the flames of that place are licking at my feet as I type...
