Had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Rewatched the latest ep of Lost in Austen since I missed the first 10 minutes last week. Just realised that 'Darcy' is the same guy who was in that Jonathan Creek which had Matt Rippy getting stripped down to his undies and having cream rubbed all over him. Ah the memories :)

This weekend we also went along to see Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. I really enjoyed it, though you do have to be in an utterly uncynical mood. Like WALL-E and Moulin Rouge it's a straightforward, old-fashioned tale with no unexpected twists, but the acting is fantastic, the setting gorgeous, and the cast just perfect.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] princess_s, in case you haven't already found this website: ScaryFangirl.Com. Stuffed to the gills with Hornblower goodness, and in particular the gallery is a treat with shots of Bamber conked out on set in his chair, and McGann all damp and dishevelled and, by their standards, semi-undressed.

To round it off Gareth David-Lloyd was announced as attending The Hub. Of course this makes me happy but dear god this con is going to be insane. In any case I'm in a mellow mood after watching Donald Strachey's On the Other Hand Death. *melts* Love between partners, love between families, all with a healthy dose of intrigue and snark. Perfect end to the weekend :)

I can't believe we're already a healthy distance into September. Sainsbury's are already starting to display some Christmas sweets *gags*

BUT!! October means Horbling and generally getting to geek out and catch up with some most excellent people. October also means The Hub. I am finally starting to get genuinely excited about it, I can almost smell the insanity from here... In addition to GDL we've now been promised Anthony Lewis (aka Tommy, aka Neville Longbottom's brother, aka other really hot young bloke who was at the USA con) and Louise Delamere (aka Diane, the one who got away and broke Owen's heart). I really really liked both their characters on the show so I'm dead chuffed we get to pick their brains about it - wheee!

Of course, the small downside to the reality of the Hub finally sinking it, I have yet again been poleaxed by the age-old concern that my FL should by now be familiar with: 'But... but... I have nothing to wear!' *frets*
