Made it to the family lair in one piece. The spawn seemed touchingly pleased to see me. Admittedly this did not mean actually bothering to come say 'Hello' until our paths crossed by co-incidence, but still, my heart warmed. Particularly when the eldest spawn excited dashed into the hall with the cry 'LB! I've got a gay film for you!' She assures me that whilst it was a freebie, it is still a sign of sibling love since she beat the other contenders in putting her hand up first *eyes DVD* Anyone heard of 'Fellini Satyricon'?

In other news, perusal of the FL turned up this gem nestled away in the Eve Myles Countrycide commentary, as reported by [livejournal.com profile] mimarie:
My favourite so far has to be from Eve Myles though, and isn't shippy at all. Answering her door very late one night while they were on location filming Countrycide, she found a drunken JB in self-proclaimed desperate need of cuddles. She (also pretty drunk, and only wearing the T shirt and knickers she'd been sleeping in) let him in, and took his socks off for him (!?) when he got into bed in his neatly ironed Transformers pyjamas.

Ladies and gentleman, I present John Barrowman ♥♥♥

Am feeling smugly the very dutiful sibling/child this evening. I managed to give The Mother a birthday present she seemed genuinely happy to receive, I attempted to put oil on waters when the usual family row erupted over lunch, and I helped carry in the shopping. My halo has never been so shiny.

This evening we all sat down to watch The Prestige. About ten minutes into it The Mother said 'I'm very confused...', and about halfway through I admitted 'My brain hurts...' And then about two thirds of the way through we all finally figured it out and enjoyed the rest of the movie. I do recommend it. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale play the rival magicians very well, David Bowie had a nice cameo that suited him well even if his accent stumped us all as to its origin, though we all particularly enjoyed the lass who played Bale's character's wife. It is a very dark tale and you have to be on your toes from the start, but they do give you a well executed reveal/explanation at the end to make sure you didn't miss anything.
