A little cooking advice, please?

1) I have been given the job of cooking the roast lamb for this evening. There's this bloody looking shoulder/leg thing wrapped up in plastic in the fridge right now. Erm. Great? Is there anything I can do to make it tasty? Other than actually cooking it, naturally? Are you meant to add oil? Herbs? Cloves or nutmeg? Help?
2) I have a shameless request of icon-makers out here. Last night,
