lonelybrit: Apples & book (Default)
So, I'm sitting halfway up a mountain in Northern Africa. And somehow fate has planted the carpark right next to the only internet cafe in the area. It costs a fair packet, but we're all sharing to get three minutes each or something similar.

It's very hot, *very* hot. They have mint tea here which is lovely. Our luggage got carried up to the hotel on the backs of two very hard working mules. Yesterday we went on a two hour walk through the valleys and wound up by this freezing waterfall - I didn't go in because a) it was freezing and b) because we were in sight of a house and these men kept popping out. My brothers went in though. I spent the half hour fussing over this lone gigantic ant that got hit by a rain droplet.

Oh yes. It is official. My father is a rain God. We arrived and the man running the hotel confidently told us that there is *never* any rain at this time of year.

The first thunderstorm hit us that evening and sent everyone scurrying indoors. The second hit just as we were on our way back from the waterfall. The hotel staff were rather puzzled. "It never rains here!"

Ah well

*hugs* and see you in three weeks! :)
