Less than a week to go, god help us
Nov. 12th, 2007 11:18 amHad a very pleasant weekend as
aysheh came down to rescue me from cabin fever. The first night was great, although I may have drunken pretty much an entire bottle of wine and a glass or so of rum, and we may have stayed up rather late. However the rest of the weekend was surprisingly teetotal and we took in Chichester shopping and the general country air, got lost on the Chichester ring road, and of course watched plentiful films/shows.
Bedrooms & Hallways - might have to get this one, sweet and simple fun with the basic end message being 'It's okay to be bi.' Though word of warning if you do see it: the end pairings really aren't what you'd expect. Plus it took me a while to get over the fact that Lord Elrond and the evil wee English dude from Pirates of the Carribean were getting frisky within five minutes of the opening credits. Simon Callow though was the real show-stealer :)
Shakespeare Retold: The Taming of the Shrew - do see it if you haven't. Brilliant stuff, the 'shrew' has become one of my heroes.
Perfect Parents - entertaining, even if we did guess one of the apparent 'reveals' about two seconds after the characters concerned were introduced. That said, the battleaxe of a nun was kinda cool.
Jekyll - again, if you haven't caught this mini-series, do so. Tremendously fun and creepy romp.
Drove to work this morning, once more entering the realm of mobile reception, and promptly got two texts from mates informing me that 'Barrowman was on the BBC right now!' Did anyone see him? Was he any good? What I've heard about the new CD so far has me shying away somewhat from these new songs, plus I'm still baffled as to what on earth is going on with his eyebrows/forehead. John, you are gorgeous lovely guy, please let mother nature have her way, she's done well by you so far.

Date: 2007-11-12 01:59 pm (UTC)My guess was that it was a mixture of a bad eyebrow plucking job and maybe a bit of botox, so no surprises there then. Which whilst a bit alarming to look at thank heavens isn't permanent. Plus it's good to hear he'll be giving the injecting yourself with toxins originally developed as biological weapons a miss in the future. *pets him*

Date: 2007-11-12 02:31 pm (UTC)Hee! Oh those stripes, there were times they actually hurt the eyes :) Head-to-toe in black does sound rather fetching, and hopefully soon the stylist will return to letting nature have her way with the eyebrows. Though then he'll probably find something else to play with, who knows, maybe it'll be tweed next, or highlights *ponders*
EEEEEE!! I know what you mean! :) Despite having had months to sort this out, I am having the obligatory panic about not yet having completely decided what route to drive/printing out maps/sorting out futons/checking petrol/etc etc, after all, what's a roadtrip without the traditional flail beforehand =)
