Alternating between denial and anger

Not much to report.

The petition had over 24000 signatures when I last looked, although apparently God itself has deigned to sign as well, but hey, stranger things have happened ;)

Instead of wallowing, I'm just going to do a simple book rec:

'The Piano Tuner' by David Mason (I think).

Brilliant book, the writing is so lovely you just want to cry, the main character is quiet and gentle yet still a very strong character, and, apparently, you really do feel like you're in Burma. I've never been myself, but I certainly got drawn in to a place full of colour and dust and heat and rain... *sigh*

Of course, when I mentioned how much I loved this book over a family lunch, in particular saying how I thought the main character was just lovely, my brother's reaction was: 'So he's just like Wesley then?'

Pfft. Well, okay, there are the vaguest similarities. Both characters are male, and English, and tend to be a little quiet and well-spoken. But other than that? No. For one thing Edgar Drake is deep down quite happy and content with himself and who he is and what he can do. Enough said.

Right. Back to decyphering nuclear homework. What fun.

I *was* trying to go spoiler-free, so far I was doing very well. I haven't even read the WB summary or watched the promos or anything. (Actually not that hard considering I'm in the wrong country for TVGuide and promos.)

Oh well, hopefully that wasn't too big a plot point. :)

Actually it turned out not to be too bad. The lecturer set this evil bitca of a question, only then we discovered he effectively answered it in his online notes, so that was okay :)

Commiserates on spoilage. You were strong, you were determined, your halo shone like burnished gold - but to no avail. Actually there are quite a few icons floating around which give this away, so you probably would have been spoiled anyway...

If I ever get time to read a book again - work is just horrendous at the moment - I will seek out this book - sounds great.

BTW -willshenillshe 's slashed sonnet tonight is the Xander/Wes/bad Angel 'verse. Does the Numfar dance of joy! Am totally corrupted by this series, you and FG have made me read slash! This series is just so stunning though, her writing is so sublime, it transcends genres and becomes pure poetry.

Yep, that series has got me hooked too! If I didn't like Angel on the principle that technically he is the only reason we have this fandom in the first place, I'd be ready to stake him right about now :)

If you're a little insane, then yes, I'd say you and I are very alike :)

*sigh* And if only the nuclear lectures were as cool as they sounded when you read them off the timetable. Today our lecturer had to be told that a) he'd put the wrong overhead up, and b) it was upsidedown and backtofront.
And he was looking at said overhead at the time and hadn't notice even while pointing out the diagrams. Worrying....
