*twitches*
Mar. 14th, 2006 01:31 amLong day. Lectures all day. Did exercise class. Spent free time afterwards printing out exam papers. Got dragged out to the pub. It's a hard life.
- Supernatural. Well that's an hour of my life I'm not getting back. Every series has its duff ep, and that was definitely one of those.
- Dark Angel. I caught it because I was doing the washing up. It's the reason I'm not too peeved about SN. Silly but fun plot. And Jensen Ackles being Jensen Ackles. In leather. Kicking ass whilst on his mobile. The quips, the smiles, and that lovely nervous look at the end when the lass reveals they know what he is.
- NEW MUSIC! EEEEEEEE!! I have the bestest friends in the world who gift me with music. I have no idea who half these bands are (The Bravery, OK Go, Interpol, Kaiser Chiefs), but who cares! NEW MUSIC! *bounce*
- I love LJ. I have now seen Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand belting out Suffragette City: Alex camping it up with the lovely Jake. Paul playing the rattle. I am happy.
- No lectures tomorrow. So in theory I can stay at home and
write drabblesrevise.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
Date: 2006-03-13 07:03 pm (UTC)Never ever?
*falls down*
You will love.
Which album did you get?
Re: STOP RIGHT THERE.
Date: 2006-03-13 07:12 pm (UTC)Yes, honestly, I have never heard a song of theirs. Apparently I have *squints at writing* Turn On The Bright Lights. I'm looking forward to giving it a whirl :)

Date: 2006-03-13 07:48 pm (UTC)TOTBL is their first album. It's best when thought of as a whole album, as opposed to a collection of singles. Although I do have my favorite tracks...Untitled, NYC, and The New (probably the three slowest songs on the album). Untitled was a transcendental experience for me. It was like the musical incarnation of New York at 5 A.M.
If you find yourself liking it, their second and most recent album, Antics, is, IMO, even better. It's a lot less dark and far more varied than TOTBL was. Antics does start out with an absolutely craptastic song, Next Exit, but don't let that stop you---the next three tracks (2-Evil, 3-NARC, and 4-Take You On A Cruise) are like a perfect little musical trilogy.
I hope I haven't talked them up too much, but they're my favorite band. :D

Date: 2006-03-14 01:52 am (UTC)About Dark Angel, you need to watch out for an episode called the Berisford Agenda, it was the only really Alec centric ep of the season, and is pretty much an Ackles tour de force where he acts everyone else on the show off the screen.

And yep, if I can stay awake that late, I will watch next week's ep. Alec is rather lovely...
